A Bunbury newsagency is buzzing after Muzz Buzz Express coffee and hot beverages arrived in store to offer a new customer experience.

Central News Bunbury owner Ian Cross was excited to deliver coffee to customers and said there was already a buzz on the street.

“The way we do business has changed and we had to diversify and saw the Muzz Buzz coffee as a good opportunity,” he said.

“I see the demand for coffee increasing and if people come in to buy a coffee then they might buy something else – getting customers in who otherwise might not have come in to the shop.” It is a three-month trial but Mr Cross was confident he would commit to the new service as long as the demand continued.

A WA first, the new concept is a joint venture between Muzz Buzz Franchising and Seven West Media (WA) to deliver a range of quality hot beverages served from the next-generation Melitta self-service coffee machines.

Seven West Media commercial development head Declan Cahill said after the trial they hoped to expand the business throughout WA.

“We’re confident that newsagents and retailers will see the commercial potential of adding a Muzz Buzz Express to their business and by doing so drive sales growth and attract new customers to their business,” he said.

Muzz Buzz chief executive officer Steve Pynt said Muzz Buzz Express was a game-changer for both companies involved.

“Muzz Buzz is proud to launch an exciting and innovative new self-service that delivers enhanced convenience and choice for our customers and extends our market leading coffee business beyond drive-through,” he said.

Muzz Buzz coffee is also available at the Mangles Corner Store located at 57 Minninup Road, South Bunbury, and Gull Strickland Street located at 81-83 Strickland Street, Bunbury.
