The owner of an Australind florist shop is "really humbled" by the public support for her roadside Mother's Day stall, which was approved by Harvey Shire Council.

The council voted on Tuesday night to overturn a shire officer's recommendation to refuse the stall on the Christina Street reserve.

Australind Florist and Gifts owner Claire Widmer said her proposal had received huge support on social media and was pleased it had been allowed.

"I'm really pleased the application has been accepted and supported by the shire and really humbled by the support," she said.

"I was trying to express the importance of buying local, and this is a new way for Australind Florist to grow."

A report to the council had earlier recommended refusing the application, citing concerns about traffic congestion and the impact on other users of the Australind reserve.
