Brooke RolfeSouth Western Times

Top apprentices, trainees and host businesses in the region were recently recognised and rewarded for their efforts at a presentation ceremony.

The Apprentice and Traineeship Company hosted its second annual awards night at the Quality Hotel Lighthouse where seven apprentices and trainees were nominated across a range of industries.

Company chief executive officer Stan Liaros said more than 150 people attended the event which he deemed a “great success”.

There were four category winners in the apprenticeship awards, as well as an overall apprentice and trainee of the year, plus a host company of the year.

Mr Liaros said the awards were an opportunity to acknowledge the quality of individuals that were passing through the company.

“They are a recognition of high achievers within our company,” Mr Liaros said.

The first-year apprentice award was presented to Tayla Bresland, the second-year winner was Kurt Grenfell and Axl Pitman won the top prize for the third-year apprentices.

Robert Southwell, 28, was the winner out of the fourth-year apprentices and also the recipient of the Apprentice of the Year award.

Trainee of the Year was awarded to Amber Forsyth and the Host Company of the Year was Master Cabinets.
