Beauty goes deeper for foundation day

Sisters have to stick together - that is the driving force behind Priceline Pharmacy's Sisterhood Foundation and its fundraising day at Eaton Fair.

Staff at the Eaton shop will offer makeovers and hairstyling for a small donation, while raffles and bags of goodies will also be available throughout the day on September 22.

The health and beauty retailer's foundation supports five charities, for which the staff at Eaton have set a $2000 donation target.

Store manager Emily Goddard said raising money was important to everyone employed at her shop.

"The foundations that we support are ones that relate to us and women everywhere," she said.

In 2010, the nationwide pharmacy conducted Australia's Biggest Health Check - surveying 25,000 women to discover their biggest health concerns.

From there, it was decided the foundation would support Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia, Children's First Foundation, Look Good Feel Better, Alzheimer's Australia, and Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation.

Miss Goddard said 100 per cent of the money raised would go to the charities.

"The catalogue runs over two weeks but the fundraiser day will kick-start our campaign," she said.

"And it's on a Thursday, so we'll be doing it all day, nine 'til nine."

Miss Goddard said qualified beauty therapists and hairdressers would be on standby for the day.

It is the Eaton outlet's first Sisterhood Foundation fundraising day since opening its doors in December.

Miss Goddard said if people could not make it on the day, customers could make donations in the heart-shaped boxes in her shop.
