Small Water Estate won the Most Successful Producer Trophy and Most Successful Exhibitor award while Talisman Wines winemaker Peter Stanlake won the Nicholas Baudin Trophy for Excellence in Winemaking.

Talisman Wines manager Anita Robinson said she was “over the moon” following the victory because it was the first time the winery had won the award after winning the Best Red and White Wine awards in previous years.

“Viticulturist Victor Bertola and winemaker Peter Stanlake deserve credit for their work but the vintage was excellent across the class with a number of gold medals,” she said.

“Peter makes wine in a different way that makes it just pop and while he makes wine for a few different labels, his ability to make chardonnay is exceptional.”

Ms Robinson said the winery had been successful in the Geographe Wine Show since the label was founded in 2009.

“We won the Most Successful Producer Trophy in our first year after many years of being a contract grower for other wineries,” he said.
