New Treendale release meets market demands
First homebuyers and pre-retirees will benefit from what is being considered a “confident market” when Treendale developers release the next stage of their ongoing plan to expand the Greater Bunbury region.
A growing suburb next to Australind, Treendale is a family-run development.
There have been 550 houses built and 400 residential lots still to be sold within the life of the project.
In what has been a busy 12 months for Treendale, developers will release stage 10 of their development next week, with 39 lots off Constellation Drive — opposite Treendale Shopping Centre — going on sale.
Development in Treendale has ramped up in the past 12 months.
Treendale Primary School is being built, a McDonald’s store has opened and there are plans for a bar/bistro and restaurants and a discount petrol station.
Master Builders South West regional manager Geoff Bosustow said an upturn in construction inquiries since December showed a growing demand for smaller plots of land.
“This has resulted in available land being snapped up,” he said.
“So it’s a very timely release for Treendale.”
Mr Bosustow said there had been a boost in consumer interest in the building and construction industry across the board in the South West, not just Treendale.
"There certainly is a market that needs to be addressed,” he said.
“There’s not a better time than now to build, because prices are competitive and interest rates are low.”
Mr Bosustow said South West residents were lucky to have the opportunity to build on all types of lot sizes.
Developer Kevin Coote said the construction of the petrol station would start soon.
“It should be operational by July,” he said.
He said traditional-sized lots for family homes would be released in the next six months, as part of the Stage 9C of the development.
Terry Coote said it was difficult to determine who would buy the smaller lots to be released next week.
“We do think it’ll be perfect for first homebuyers and people not ready to move into retirement lots, but it’s hard to predict,” he said.
“It caters for people who don’t want to walk or drive too far to the shops.”
