Passionate Baker takes cafe challenge

The Passionate Baker has extended its premises to include a cafe.

Owner and master baker John Carey opened the new section yesterday.

Built at the front of the bakery, the cafe is about five times bigger than the original premises and will include an alfresco area.

Mr Carey has been working on the development for the past 12 months.Mr Carey said it would be “trendy but also comfortable” for its existing and new customers.

“Our customers can still expect our best quality breads, pastries, pies and cakes, as well as a new breakfast and lunch menu prepared by our qualified chefs, ” he said.

“I believe this will be a great asset to the people living and working in the area and to Bunbury as a whole.”

The cafe will have some unique features, including church pews from 1800s and an 1850 English prison door.

The cafe will be open from 7am Monday to Friday and 7.30am on Saturday and Sundays.
