For Jon Dixon, the satisfying aspects of being in business for 25 years have been working with fantastic people and being with clients all the way through their financial journey.

Mr Dixon started Dixon Financial Group in Bunbury 25 years ago and now employs eight staff.

The group celebrated its milestone on Friday at the Sanctuary Golf Resort with a cocktail event and seminar.

“It is a really honourable feeling knowing I have looked after my clients throughout their journey in life and after they die,” he said.

“My advice is to do the right thing by your client and not worry about how much money you will make from them.”

He said the biggest change to the business came after the global economic crisis in 2007 when the Government changed legislation which had slowed their business and required more staff.

One piece of advice he offered was always to get a second opinion and step outside your comfort zone.

“You have to change what you are doing financially every six months otherwise there will be missed opportunities,” he said.

“Don’t always choose a service on its fees and charges because you will get what you pay for.

“If I am to be brutally honest, pay off your mortgage as soon as possible because you will have more money in the long run.”

Mr Dixon thanked his wife Wendy and his dedicated staff for making the business a success.
