Royalties fund Bunbury airport upgrades

South Western Times

Bunbury's airport will benefit from a $141,786 revamp, funded by the State Government’s Royalties for Regions Airport Development Scheme.

The money will go towards fencing and the building of new taxiways. Transport Minister Troy Buswell said the grants, funded through the State Government’s Royalties for Regions program, would help develop vital regional airport infrastructure and would improve air services throughout the State.

“These infrastructure upgrades and maintenance will enable improved access for communities and provide safer emergency evacuations, as well as greater tourism opportunities for the regions,” he said.
