VideoCold Chisel have announced a 50th Anniversary Tour, "The Big Five-O". Plans for this milestone celebration have been a massive secret, but Jimmy Barnes let Sunrise in on it.

Fans of Cold Chisel who missed out on tickets to their 50th-anniversary Australian tour will be ecstatic to hear more tickets have been released.

Limited additional tickets to The Big Five-0 Tour are now available to purchase for the band’s concerts in WA, NSW and Victoria ahead of the tour kicking off this month.

With nearly all dates for the anticipated shows selling out within minutes, fans now have one last chance to celebrate the rockers’ 50th anniversary, complete with their classic Aussie hits.

This strictly limited ticket release includes the first official show on Saturday at Petersons Winery in Armidale, Sandalford Wines in the Swan Valley on October 19 and 20, and Victoria Park in Ballarat on November 9.

A smaller batch of tickets will also be available for all other dates except the Big Top Tent shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, which will remain sold out for the time being.

Given the sales frenzy that occurred when the tour was announced in May, high demand is expected, so fans are advised to get in quickly.

Fans on a ticketing agency waitlist for a particular show will have first access from 9am local time on Tuesday.

The remaining tickets will then be released to the general public at noon at the same prices paid by other ticketholders in May.

The tour kicks off in Armidale this weekend and will play to crowds nationwide before wrapping up in Sydney on December 4.

In support of the special milestone, Cold Chisel released 50 Years — The Best Of, which went straight to no.1 on the ARIA Album Chart, giving the band their sixth no.1 album.

With Jimmy Barnes on vocals, Ian Moss on guitar and vocals, Phil Small on bass, Don Walker on piano and organ and Charley Drayton on drums, the band is set to put on a raging set.

Drummer Steve Prestwich died in 2011 and was replaced by Drayton that same year.

The tour will be a massive feat for Barnes, who has recently overcome a number of health issues.

He cancelled two months’ worth of shows in August due to “unbearable pain” in his hip, with doctors advising urgent surgery.

And last year, Barnes underwent open-heart surgery after he revealed a bacterial infection he’d been fighting had spread to his heart.
