Bad Sisters season two trailer promises more hijinks, dead bodies and secrets
Wherever the Garvey sisters go, trouble follows.
The second season of Bad Sisters is less than a month away and now the first full trailer is here. It promises to be full of sticky scenarios, crunchy characters and deceptive designs.
It’s been two years since that darkly comedic first season, so if you need a little recap, the Dublin-set Bad Sisters is centred on the five Garvey sisters who plot to murder Grace’s abusive husband JP, but keep failing, until they don’t.
In the second season, they’re trying to move on from their lives, Grace is even getting married. But the past never stays buried for long, especially when a new character played by the formidable Fiona Shaw starts sniffing around and casting suspicions.
Maybe something to do with JP’s death? Or maybe do with the other dead body that surfaces in the story.
The ensemble cast is led by Sharon Horgan, who also co-created and wrote both seasons of the show, which was adapted from a Flemish series called Clan. Horgan, who is known for co-creating with Rob Delaney the British comedy Catastrophe, plays the oldest Garvey sister Eve.
Returning for the second instalment and playing the sisters are Anne-Marie Duff as Grace, Eve Hewson as Becka, Sarah Greene as Bibi and Eva Birthistle as Ursula.
Also back are Michael Smiley as neighbour Roger, who was complicit in the cover-up of JP’s death, Daryl McCormack as insurance investigator Matt Claffin, and Jonjo O’Neill, Saise Quinn and Yasmine Akram as Garvey spouses and kids.
Shaw isn’t the only newbie in the cast with Owen Donnell as Grace’s new husband Ian and Thaddeau Graham and Barry Ward as detectives.
The first season won a BAFTA for best drama series.
Bad Sisters season two starts on November 13 on Apple TV+ with a double-episode premiere.
