A $2.70 Lotto ticket has turned into $1m for one lucky Sydney man
A man is pinching himself after his $2.70 Lotto ticket turned into $1m, winning the division one prize pool in Wednesday’s Weekday Windfall.
The man from Hurstville in Sydney’s south said he needed an extra dose of caffeine because he could not sleep after he checked his ticket.
“I’ve been waiting for your call,” he told Lott officers.
“I checked my ticket last night and I hardly slept as you can imagine.
“I can’t believe it. It’s completely unbelievable. Seriously, is this real? I don’t know.”
The man said his wife did not believe him when he showed her the winning ticket and thought he must have read it wrong.
“Now it’s confirmed, it’s even better,” he said.
“It’ll definitely feel more real when we see those extra zeros in our account.
“I’ve been playing these numbers for ages now and I only spend $2.70 on my ticket which is pretty incredible.”
The man said he was too stunned to make any immediate decisions about how they would spend the money, but he was going to visit to a financial adviser before they made any plans.
“I’m still in shock,” he laughed.
It was one of the two division one winning entries in the Weekday Windfall draw 4465, the other winning entry was bought in Tasmania.
The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4465 were 18, 39, 30, 42, 25 and 23, while the supplementary numbers were 17 and 34.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 385 so far in 2024, including 111 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
Last financial year, Weekday Windfall created 98 millionaires across Australia.
