An Australian tourist has allegedly been gang-raped in Paris just days before the Olympics are set to kick off.

French media reported that a woman, 25, was found disoriented and unable to speak French outside a kebab shop on Boulevard de Clichy in Paris’ 18th arrondissement about 5am on Saturday, just metres from Moulin Rouge.

She was reportedly found in a stunned state with her dress “backwards” and partially torn off, claiming she’d been raped by five people.

She was taken to Bichat hospital by firefighters.

The woman was reportedly intoxicated and was meant to return to Australia over the weekend.

Paris’ prosecutor’s office said the 2nd judicial police district are investigating, according to Le Parisien.

“The investigation into the charge of gang rape likely to have been committed on the night of July 19 to 20 has been entrusted to the 2nd judicial police district,” the announcement said.

A hearing was reportedly scheduled for Monday.

The Alliance Paris police union said investigators will “do everything to quickly identify the individuals to justice”, according to Le Parisien.

The action begins at 11pm on Wednesday, July 24 with a couple of men’s football games, while the men’s rugby sevens starts half an hour later.

The incident comes just days before the Olympics is set to begin.

Several competitions begin before the opening ceremony, including archery and handball.

Once the opening ceremony is done, the official “Day 1” will begin on Saturday afternoon.

Medals will be awarded in cycling, diving, fencing, judo, rugby sevens, shooting, skateboarding and swimming that same day.

NewsWire has contacted the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for comment.

More to come.
