Bunbury’s Anglican community has restored one of its most popular fundraisers and is seeking donations to make it a success.

Walker Hall opposite St Boniface Cathedral will be alive for two days next month when a book fair is held.

Organiser Anita Turner said the book fair was returning by popular demand.

“We enjoy doing it and the community enjoys it because we have been asked about it during the last couple of years,” she said.

“Most people like books and even though you can download them, it is still nice to have a book in your hand.

“It is a fundraiser for us but for the community, it means you can get rid of some books and can get several more for a few dollars.”

Anglican dean Very Reverend Darryl Cotton said all of the money raised would go towards the church and encouraged the community to head along.

“There’s nothing like putting down a mobile device, picking up a good book and transporting yourself into a different world,” he said.

Donations can be made by bringing books to the cathedral in advance during business hours or during the event.

The book fair will be held from 5pm on July 15 and from 9am on July 16.
