NSW boy injured in rollercoaster ride fall

A five-year-old boy has broken his leg in an accident on a mini-rollercoaster on a rural NSW property.

The boy suffered suspected leg and wrist fractures after falling off the "small amusement ride" on a Tingha property on Monday morning, Westpac Rescue Helicopter said in a statement.

He was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital.

The accident is believed to have occurred on a farm-stay operation.

"The boy's family and others on scene did a great job to look after him until paramedics arrived," NSW Ambulance Inspector Carly Stone said in a statement on Wednesday.

"It's always heartbreaking for anyone who attends or witnesses accidents like this where a child is involved."
