Putting the fun into fundraising

South Western Times

Bunbury businesses are being encouraged to dress up and roll up in the name of a good cause.

The Intown Centre’s 5th annual Corporate Bowls event will take place later this month and registrations are now open.

Centre manager Leanne Gibbs said companies had until Tuesday to register a team of four in the fundraising event which takes place on March 22 at the Bunbury Bowling Club.

Teams will compete for prize money and the Intown Corporate Bowls Cup.

“Corporate bowls is the only fundraising event the centre holds annually to provide funds for ongoing annual costs such as insurance, power, gas and phone connection,” Ms Gibbs said.

“For the past four years it has been a very successful event, both financially and socially.”

Last year’s competition was won by the RSM Bird Cameron team.

Intown Centre chairman David Bailey said the event was a fun way to raise much needed funds for those in need.

“All those who attend have a fun night and can go away with the knowledge they have helped a good cause,” he said.

Teams are invited to dress up as their favourite musician, with prizes awarded for the best dressed as well as the best and worst players.

The Intown Centre provides support for people affected by issues such as homelessness, unemployment and isolation.

Registration for the event costs $250 per team.
