Starlight appeal begins today

Sparkling Starlight sellers will be out in force outside Target in Centrepoint today.

Location leader Sian Tiltman is aiming for generous support from the community after joining Starlight four years ago following the birth of her first son.

‘‘The main reason why I joined Starlight was because when I gave birth my son he was four weeks premature and was sent up to Perth to be looked after in the neonatal unit and I found the Starlight Foundation was amazing looking after the children in the ward,’’ she said.

‘‘I think anyone who has a child should get involved because a lot of people don’t realise that all the toys the children play with in hospital are donated by the Starlight Foundation.’’ Mrs Tiltman said more volunteers were needed for Starlight Day.
