Police have located a South West man missing for more than four days and are taking him to hospital for assessment.

36-year-old Jesse Gunning had been missing since the evening of Monday, January 16.

His distraught parents pleaded for information on his whereabouts at a press conference in Busselton on Thursday.

The father-of-one had last been seen leaving Bunbury Regional Hospital wearing a black short-sleeve t-shirt, white linen shorts, white sneakers, a cream-coloured cap with a motif on the front, and sunglasses.

It was not known why he was at the hospital that evening.

Mr Gunning’s parents, Jenny and Kim, held back tears on Thursday afternoon as they pleaded with the public to help them bring their son home.

“We are desperate to find information on Jessie” Mrs Gunning said.

“Jesse you’re a much-loved brother and father and son and we just want him home safe and sound.”

Acting Detective Inspector John Harty said it’s likely Mr Gunning was still in the Dalyellup area, south of Bunbury, where he owns properties.

“It’s likely that he will return to Dalyellup to visit friends there. If he is with friends there, we ask for his friends to please contact police because our primary concern is Mr Gunning’s health and safety and that’s all we can do at the moment.”

Outside the Bunbury area, Mr Harty asked the community to keep a look out in the Busselton and Perth areas where Mr Gunning’s parents and family live.

Mr Gunning is described as approximately 178cm tall, with a medium build, blonde hair, brown eyes, a beard and a moustache.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police immediately on 131 444.
