NRLW player to fight teen assault charge after Uber Eats argument

An NRLW player accused of attacking her teenage neighbour inside a unit block in Sydney’s glitzy eastern suburbs over an argument about an Uber East delivery order will fight the charges in court.

Parramatta Eels player Kate Fallon, 20, pleaded not guilty before Waverley Local Court on Wednesday to a single charge of assault occasioning actual body harm following her arrest late last month.

Police allege Ms Fallon, who appeared in court under the name Katie Madigan, assaulted the 17-year-old girl at a complex on Namatjira Place in the suburb of Chifley between 2-2.45pm on July 17.

Dressed in a cropped top under a pink-coloured suit, Ms Fallon’s matter was only briefly mentioned before the court’s registrar before being adjourned until October for a brief to be compiled by police.

The teen was treated at the scene of the alleged attack by NSW Ambulance paramedics and was taken to the Prince of Wales Hospital about 10 minutes away in Randwick as a precaution before later being released from care.

The NRL said in a statement it had agreed with the Parramatta Eels to stand Ms Fallon down from playing and would investigate whether further action was needed.

“The NRL will provide additional consideration to the player before determining whether further action is required, including the potential imposition of the no-fault stand down condition,” it said.

In its own statement last month, the Parramatta Eels said they were aware of the matter involving one of their NRLW players, and the club had advised the NRL integrity unit “as per normal process”.
