THE Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre and the talent in the City of Bunbury Eisteddfod are among the best in Australia, according to international dance adjudicator Marilyn Morrison.

Ms Morrison has more than 25 years of experience judging dance competitions and eisteddfods in Australia and New Zealand and travelled to Bunbury this week to judge the dance rounds of the 56th Bunbury eisteddfod.

“I’m so impressed by the novices and the standard of performance compared to other areas of Australia, ” she said.

“There is so much talent in the choreography and the costumes – I’m actually judging them by standards I would usually categorise as the ‘open’ categories.”

Ms Morrison said being a part of the eisteddfod was an excellent opportunity for young performers.

“It gives them the chance to be seen and can be a stepping stone for them to enter the professional world, ” she said.

She also said the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre was a world class venue for community events.

“It is one of the best venues I’ve judged in, ” she said.

“It teaches them how to use a stage and work with the lighting – not a lot of places have that opportunity.”

There are two major events left in the City of Bunbury Eisteddfod, including the dance showcase tomorrow from 7pm and the gala concert on Saturday, June 28 from 7pm.

Tickets can be purchased from the box office at BREC.
