Illuminate yourself by spreading around love, peace and respect at this year’s South West Indian Group'''''' Diwali Festival of Lights.
Group president Dr Parthasarathy Ramesh is looking forward to hosting the event on November 12 between 4pm and 7.30pm at the South West Italian Club.
He said the event promised to deliver spectacular fire dancers, vibrant Bhangra dancers, alongside serene Indian classical performers and Bollywood performances.
Dr Ramesh is keen to showcase his group’s vision of bringing cultures together in the community.
“This year’s focus is on Noongar performances including dance, didgeridoo syncing into Bollywood music and Noongar song.
“Diwali is a global celebration of peace, harmony, respect and humanity,” he said.
“There will be Henna stalls, performances by the Bunbury City Band, Spanish and Zumba dancers, Harp by Helen Punch, Sitar by David Rawat and a Noongar art display.
Tickets are $25 for South West Indian Group members, $30 for non-members and $15 for children aged between five and 15 years, with children under five entering for free.
The ticket price includes an Indian buffet meal catered by Spice Journey and it is an alcohol and smoke-free event.
