Bunbury's celebration of Australia Day in 2017 is set to be the “best outside Perth”, according to the City of Bunbury.

Organisers are expecting to attract a crowd of over 40,000 to the CBD's Bicentennial Square on 26 January where the day will kick off with the traditional breakfast at 6.30am organised by the Silver Chain.

The Bunbury Runners Club Fun Run around the Leschenault Inlet will start at 7am and citizenship and community awards will be handed out by Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan from 8.30am from the Graham Bricknell Memorial Shell.

From 4pm, free activities and family entertainment will take place in the Bicentennial Square, and events will culminate in the traditional Family Concert and fireworks which will start exploding over the city skyline at 8.30pm.
