Anticipation is growing for the Anzac Day commemorations in Bunbury in just over two weeks, with thousands of people expected to attend dawn and morning services in the city.

Bunbury RSL president John Gelmi estimated 5000 people would attend the dawn service at Anzac Park and between 7000 and 8000 people would join the morning service at the Graham Bricknell Memorial Music Shell.

"A lot of people will come to Bunbury from surrounding areas like Australind and Eaton," he said.

Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan said he expected crowds at this year's Anzac Day services to be among the biggest ever seen.

"The centenary of the landings at Gallipoli is a significant event and I am anticipating that big crowds will turn out to pay tribute to those who have served their country," he said.

"The dawn service in particular will be a poignant ceremony in Bunbury, as it will be around Australia, in New Zealand and at Gallipoli.

"It is fitting that the restored Bunbury War Memorial will take centre stage during the dawn service and the positive feedback we have received from the public regarding its remarkable restoration indicates that Anzac Day is at the forefront of many people's minds."
