Boardwalk reopens after damage by generator

A trailer and generator have damaged the Koombana Bay boardwalk after the trailer came loose from a vehicle travelling east this morning.

The trailer and generator had been hired by a local events company.

Sen. Const. Lance Beynon said the driver would likely face charges of failing to stop and failing to report the incident as well as failing to ensure the trailer was attached properly.

Police have located the man in Fremantle and he will be questioned.

The boardwalk, which was closed for a considerable portion of the day, has now been reopened.
