Christen O’Leary will hit the stage at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre with six different personalities, which she believes will all make you laugh.

O’Leary is the star of the one-woman show, Bombshells, by award-winning Australian playwright and author Joanna Murray-Smith.

Bombshells has it all — singing, dancing, comedy and the joys of sheer honesty.

O’Leary said the show is a series of monologues ranging from a 14-year-old schoolgirl to a 60-something widow.

“It’s challenging in that all the characters are vastly different and I am out there alone, but it is one of those shows for the general public which is invigorating for them, ” she said.

“Pretty much everyone who comes to see it can identify with one of the characters.

“You tend to spot someone you know or feel like you know.”

The actress favours the widow in the show, saying the character immediately jumped out at her.

“She is written so delicately and with some kind of poise that she, in some ways, just plays herself, ” she said.

“She has such a brilliant story and such grace in her that she takes care of herself really.”

O’Leary said she was attracted to the show because of the challenge of solo performing.

“Even if you’re carrying a show which has other cast members in it, being a solo performer is a different beast really, ” she said.

“When you’re an actor you want to work so when they ring you and ask you, you say yes.”

Bombshells is being performed at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on November 7.
