Breastscreen WA is targeting women aged over 40 during a free breast screening service in Collie next month.

The health organisation’s mobile service will be located at the Collie Police and Citizens Youth Club from June 3 until July 22.

BreastScreen WA medical director Dr Elizabeth Wylie said screening mammography was the most effective method for early detection and treatment of breast cancer.

“Screening every two years is vitally important to increase the chance of a breast cancer being detected when it is too small to feel or be noticed,” she said.
