Television news personality Noel Brunning is putting on his radio hat to host a daily news segment from 10am to 2pm at Spirit Radio 621 South West.

His first day on the airwaves is today and listeners can expect some of his comedic, quirky personality to come out.

Mr Brunning started his career in radio and decided it was time to return to his love of telling news over the airwaves.

He said it was a different way to communicate with people because of the extended time frames which radio allowed.

“I guess it is an extension of what I am already doing and it will be good for the station to have someone who is across the local issues, ” he said.

“It is going to be good fun with light, local news and I am keen to bring a localised angle to the morning segment.

“Radio led me into television and it was just meant to be, so I have added this into my schedule.”

He saw it as an opportunity to work locally, while diversifying in the media industry.

He said there was a lot of different news which happened across our community and he looked forward to informing the listeners about what is happening in the region.
