Brunswick add to the 'best' show

SOUTH WESTERN TIMESSouth Western Times

Last minute preparations are underway for this Saturday's Brunswick Show, as organisers vow to bring the "wow factor" to Australia's biggest single-day agricultural show.

The Brunswick Agricultural Society has promised to pull out all the stops to make sure the event, which attracts about 18,000 every year, continues to be the biggest and best in the country.

"Every year we have got to think of bigger and better attractions," publicity officer Lindsay Rose said.

"If you want to maintain that we are the biggest and the best then you have to give people something to come for."

Among a number of new attractions, an earthworks precinct will be created in the middle of the showgrounds that will be at first used for a four-wheel-drive track for quad bikes.

Then, in what Mrs Rose describes as a "Bob the Builder" situation, it will be transformed into a new track.

There will also be BMX demonstrations, a performance from Australia's Got Talent finalist Jonny Taylor and the usual mix of events and attractions including animals, log chopping, a grand parade and sideshow alley.

WA Showmen will help at sideshow alley and manage some hair-raising rides including the Cliff Hanger and the Supa Nova.

This year's show will pay special tribute to the volunteers who help make the show a success.
