Bulls Gold moved to equal fourth on the Dale Alcock Homes Bunbury Basketball Association ladder with a 93-82 overtime win over Busselton on Friday night.
Busselton pulled out to a 15-2 lead to start the game but Gold went into the half-time break with a four-point lead thanks to some great basketball by Sam Julitz, who scored 29 points for the game.
Busselton guard Cameron Bell (29 points) kept his side in touch by nailing seven three-pointers, but Matt Mansfield tied the game at 77 each with less than five seconds left to send the game into overtime.
Brynn Francis added 24 points for the winners, while Mansfield (16 points) and Dylan Ness (15 points) were solid for Busselton.
Aces White rallied back from a double figure deficit to claim a 72-71 win over Tornadoes Grey to join Gold and Busselton in equal fourth place.
Brody England made 22 points for White. Darius Smith (23 points) and Joel McKay (19 points) were Grey’s best.
Bulls Maroon threw away a 40-22 lead with Tornadoes Black going on a 22-point run early in the second half to take a 44-40 lead and going on to win 68-56 to move to outright second on the ladder.
Carey Watkins (22 points) and Brendon Canzirri (17 points) were Black’s best, while Jordan Hickert was the only one to make an impact for Maroon with 33 points as they dropped to third on the ladder.
First placed Aces Navy easily accounted for winless Tornadoes Red 96-57 with Jeremy Paull dropping 30 points for the winners while Thomas Warrigal scored 21 points for Red.
In the women’s games, a last second lay-up by Cassady Anderson gave Aces White a 60-58 win over Aces Blue to keep top spot on the ladder.
Anderson scored 19 points with Tiahna Sears chipping in 13 points, while Imogen Van Laere scored 20 for Blue.
Bulls defeated Busselton 48-36 with Brittany Gliddon top scoring for the winners with 13 points and Ella Bassett scoring a game high 17 for Busselton.
