Bunbury copped an overnight deluge with almost 25mm of rain falling in one hour.

It was part of 41.2mm recorded at the Bureau of Meteorology’s Carey Park site in the 24 hours to 9am today, which was Bunbury’s third-wettest day of the year.

The gauge recorded 23.6mm of rain from 3.30am-4.30am.

It brought Bunbury’s rainfall tally for the month to 122mm, close to the long-term July average of 142.3mm.

It was a heavy night of rain across the South West, with the bureau’s Busselton site recording 64mm in the 24 hours.

A water gauge in Dardanup also recorded about 40mm of rain.
