Bookmakers are hopeful of a massive payday with half a dozen horses proving popular with punters in today’s $110,000 XXXX Gold Bunbury Cup.

In one of the most open Bunbury features in recent memory the TAB odds tell the story with no clear favourite just hours before the jump.

At $7.70 Adam Durrant gelding Keepers Court boasts the shortest odds with Stephen Miller galloper Coup Acclaim ($7.80) not far beyond.

Support is rolling in for Ascot trainer Donna Baillie’s experienced mare Malaika whose odds have shortened from $21 to $7.90 overnight.

Summah’s Touch remains popular at $8.50 while in-form five-year-old Jim ‘N’ Jim has also shortened slightly from $10 to $9.10.

The only South West horse in the Cup, Simon Foster’s Fanicio, has enjoyed home town support to shorten from $31 to $21.20 and remains an outside chance.

At the other end of the spectrum is AHA Cup winner Moonlight Bay who has ballooned out from $8 to $39.30 after copping top weight at 59kg.

Despite impressive summer campaigns, Pop Culture ($14.80), Operational ($17.30) and Cyber Crime ($20.60) are all struggling for support from punters in the Cup.

What our tipsters say for the Bunbury Cup 2014

Julio Santarelli, RWWA

No.15 Summah’s Touch

Summah’s Touch is a promising stayer who is on the way up and will strip fitter after an unlucky run in the AHA Cup.

Riley Stuart, The West Australian

No.5 Coup Acclaim

Strong field, open field. My money is on Coup Acclaim who showed enough for me when third in the AHA Cup.

Josh Zimmerman, South Western Times

No.13 Marden

William Pike is in sublime form at Bunbury this year and can coax a lot more out of this Adam Durrant galloper after a fifth place finish in the AHA Cup.

Fiona Hinds, www.swtimes.com.au

No.6 Cyber Crime

This horse has ticked every box except the ‘first past the post’ one this campaign. Overdue for a win and looks the goods for mine.

Paul Luzi, Lighthouse RM

No.14 Operational

Very consistent horse. Good run last start, master trainer, ready to run a big race, will be good odds so a great each way bet today.

Ashley Dillon, Spirit Radio South West

No.2 Pop Culture

I’ll look at the mare’s last start in Bunbury as an aberration. Every chance of bouncing back strongly.

Flighty Filly, Greener Pastures

No.15 Summah’s Touch

The young Belmont Classic winner was well off her best in the AHA Cup and will improve drastically here.

Brody Russell, Bunbury Turf Club

No.9 Jim ’N’ Jim

Have a feeling visiting jockey Dom Tourneur could have a good day and is capable of a good showing aboard the Adam Durrant prepared galloper.
