Bunbury entertainment centre expansion to start
The multi-million dollar expansion of the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre is about to begin and CBD visitors can expect some changes the centre’s parking areas.
The long-awaited transformation is expected to be given the final go ahead by the Bunbury City Council at its next meeting on Tuesday May 22.
The expansion will include an extra 250 seat flexible theatre space which is hoped will attract larger and more diverse events to the city.
It will also include state-of-the-art media and conferencing facilities which will be accessible for visitors with disabilities.
When works start some of the centre’s current car park will no longer be available.
The four existing car parks will be upgraded and expanded which includes the centre’s southern car park, the Leschenault foreshore car park, the Cobblestone Drive car park and the Cobblestone car park at Frank Buswell foreshore.
Once the project has been completed, the number of bays will have permanently increased.
The project is expected to be completed by October next year.
