Bunbury tennis fun day for MND
The Bunbury Tennis Club is opening its doors to the public for an action-packed day of activities in benefit of the Motor Neurone Disease Association of WA.
The second annual Fluro Tennis Day, set down for Sunday, November 30, will this year raise money for a cause close to the hearts of members after long-time groundsman Val Knott was recently diagnosed with MND.
A life member of the club and a former teacher at Bunbury Senior High School, Knott has had a profound influence on many people throughout the South West and part of the proceeds of the day will be donated to the MND Association of WA to help in the fight against the disease.
The day begins at 8am with a cooked breakfast available for purchase before a slate of morning activities, including cardio tennis, a junior Hotshots tournament and a corporate challenge, take centre stage.
A ball machine and serving speed gun will also be in operation before all eyes turn to a doubles tournament in the afternoon.
Entry is by gold coin donation and food and bar facilities will be available throughout the day.
Individuals interested in taking part in the doubles tournament are encouraged to register their interest on the club’s Facebook page.
