Chopper flies to Bunbury crash
Updated: A woman was cut from her car after a crash on one of Bunbury’s busiest roads this morning.
The crash occurred on the Australind Bypass, near the turnoff to Vittoria Road, about 9am.
The woman was trapped in a Holden sedan, which was in the ditch on the side of the bypass, forcing firefighters to cut her out.
Symone Ferriday was travelling south on the bypass and was clipped by the woman’s car.
She was the first to attend the car and found the woman shocked and bleeding from the mouth.
The woman told her she was suffering from back and neck pain.
“I got the first aid kit out the car and ran over to see her,” Ms Ferriday said.
“She was obviously in a lot of shock. Her airbag had gone off, so her face was protected, but she had bitten her tongue.”
Firefighters later freed the woman from the car.
The RAC Rescue helicopter attended the scene but the woman was taken to Bunbury Hospital.
WA Police have been contacted for comment.
