Clemons king as India take a dive

SOUTH WESTERN TIMESSouth Western Times

Bunbury's Tristan Clemons was the match-winner as Australia's national men's hockey team won their three-Test series against India on Tuesday night.

The goalkeeper produced a spectacular diving save to decide the penalty shootout after the series had finished level on aggregate.

The Kookaburras played the three matches ahead of their World League campaign, which begins on Saturday in the Indian city of Raipur.

Going into Tuesday's final Test, Australia was one goal ahead on aggregate and looked set for a 2-2 draw in the match, which would have secured the series.

An Indian goal in the final 10 seconds won them the match 3-2 and left the series level overall.

A shootout was required to decide the series and with Australia holding a 3-2 lead before India's final shot, Clemons' decisive save was enough to win the series.
