A classic car cruise, live music performances and themed dancing will set the tone for the Bunbury Rock ‘n’ Roll Club’s Hot August Weekend.

The sixth annual event will run from August 12 to 14 and will be kicked off by DJ Rob on Friday night at a ‘Beatlemania’ themed dance.

Perth band The Haze Boys will entertain the crowd well into Saturday night with an exciting set of hits from the 50s and 60s.

The club has lined up a selection of cars including Mustangs, Holdens, hot rods and Cadillacs for its Saturday morning cruise.

Sixteen cars will embark on a journey through the South West, stopping at iconic locations and swapping passengers at each leg.

Club secretary Tracy Doyle said the cruise was a popular and enjoyable part of the weekend.

“It is always a fantastic time and people have a ball,” she said.

Guests will have a chance to wind down on Sunday morning at a communal brunch.

More than 80 people attended last year and Mrs Doyle is hoping for an even bigger turnout at this year’s event.

“People come from all over the State, and we’ve even had interstate people attend in the past,” she said.

“It would be great to get some younger people involved as well.”

The Bunbury Rock ‘n’ Roll club has been running for 17 years and is made up of 90 members.
