An average weekend maximum of 14.3C was recorded and the mercury dropped to just 2.3C this morning.

The city recorded 149.4mm of rainfall compared to the June average of 174.2mm and its wettest 24 hours on June 25 when 53.6mm fell.

From June 25 up until yesterday afternoon, the city received 38 per cent of the year's total rainfall to date with 127.4mm of rain falling.

The recent rainfall has resulted in a less than two per cent increase to storage in most dams across the South West, with levels across the region an average of approximately 25 per cent lower than the same time last year.

The Weather Bureau predicts chance showers throughout the week with minimum temperatures of below 5C and daytime temperatures struggling to climb above the mid teens.
