Community rallies for family

TARI JEFFERSSouth Western Times

There has been an overwhelming community response to our story today about Lisa Smith and her son Harper whose house was ransacked and Christmas presents stolen at the weekend.

In response to offers of help from members of the community, the South Western Times is coordinating a collection which we will drop off to Ms Smith tomorrow afternoon.

Ms Smith said she was astounded by the generosity of the community and while she felt uneasy taking people’s donations, she would accept them if offered.

If you would like to make a cash or present donation, please feel free to pop by our office at 19 Proffit Street by 3.30pm tomorrow (Friday) after which we will take the donations to Ms Smith at her home.

Our office will close at 5pm tonight, and reopen at 8.30am tomorrow.
