Could Targa put Bunbury on its map?

Bunbury could soon be home to one of three major Targa West events after it was announced a one-day event will be held in Halifax next year.

The Targa Bunbury Sprint will take place on Sunday, June 26 and is expected to bring more than 80 drivers to the city to compete in exciting tight and technical stages through the Halifax light industrial area.

Targa West events coordinator Ross Tapper said if the sprint became a success, then growth for the race was possible.

Will White is a South West driver who regularly participates in Targa West rallies.

Will said there were a lot of car enthusiasts in Bunbury who would be excited about the race.

“It will put our region all over the world,” he said.
