Council changes to CBD parking
Two changes to parking in Bunbury’s CBD are set to ease the city’s parking woes and make it more convenient for shoppers to browse.
The start time of on-street paid parking has been changed from 8am to 8.30am and all one-hour on-street parking zones, aside from the designated pick up and drop off points, have been changed to two hours.
Deputy Mayor and Bon Marche owner Stephen Craddock said he was pleased the council had listened to the public’s feedback.
‘‘It should be a very popular move,’’ Cr Craddock said.
‘‘It will mean that shoppers will have more time to browse or enjoy lunch and a coffee without having to rush out to the parkingmeters.’’
The changes have beenmade as a direct result of an extensive study of business owners and the public and are only two of 11 recommendations that were adopted by the council to improve parkingin the CBD.
