Bunbury Show coordinator Rosina Mogg has been overwhelmed by community support during her first year in the role as she worked to strengthen the event’s focus on bringing the community together.

“It’s important to provide a free event where people can showcase their talents and hobbies, ” Ms Mogg said.

“We cater for all socioeconomic groups and bring the country into the city.”

The annual Bunbury Agricultural Society event will be held over three days this weekend, opening on Friday night with youth-focused music event Rock on The Hay.

The Bunbury Show will also introduce a range of new attractions this year, including the Horsepower Auto Show display of popular machines and cars, a pet parade and a sustainability workshops run by the Bunbury Urban Growers.

“I think more people in Bunbury are getting into urban farming, ” she said.

This year’s Bunbury Show continues its focus on encouraging people in the South West to live a healthier lifestyle and to broaden the range of people it attracted to the event.

Ms Mogg said organising an event on this scale would be impossible without a dedicated and active committee and supportive family.

“I’ve been very happy with the support of the committee and my family for the show, which in the end helps the community and gives us a chance to showcase Bunbury, ” she said.

“We’re trying to add more attractions to gain interest from a wider variety of people.”
