In a bid to bring some spookiness to the streets of Dalyellup, Tuart Forest Primary School is organising a Terror Run for this year’s Halloween.

The schools P&C committee in collaboration with Satterley Property Group and the Capel Shire Council will be holding a novelty fun run to scare and excite.

Committee member Holly Wintle said they were hoping it would become an event the whole South West could be part of and an annual fundraiser for the school.

“Dalyellup Halloween is huge, there are kids everywhere, lots of trick or treaters and people dressed up, so we thought why not build on that,” she said.

“There is only one other zombie run done in WA and that was based in Perth, so it means we’re doing something that has never been done outside of the metro area.”

Community groups and organisations can participate by having stalls, activities or food and drink for sale and use the event as a fundraiser.

“We’re hoping it will appeal to a wide audience – if we can build upon this and have it as an annual event, we can make it bigger each year,” Ms Wintle said.

“People can run or walk, it’s a novelty event – they will go through different zones linked to Halloween and hopefully it’ll be scary enough for the older kids but not too scary for the younger ones.

“We just hope it will be something people can come to and enjoy as a Halloween activity, it’s a safe environment for bringing small children and families can use it as an alternative to trick or treating.”

Participants will receive a trick or treat bag filled with goodies on the day and tickets are now available online.
