Drivers taken to Busselton hospital after front-on crash
A female driver has been taken to hospital for treatment following a front-on collision with a City of Busselton truck on Bussell Highway this morning.
The car sustained significant damage when it hit the rear end of the rubbish truck near the Jean Street intersection at about 9am.
Busselton police constable Dean Kelland said the cause had yet to be determined but witnesses described the truck as stationary, collecting bins, and it appeared the driver of the car failed to see it and break.
“We can see there is a skid which went for about 15 metres,” he said.
“It looks like the road was a little wet…but people need to drive to the conditions whether that means slowing down or being more alert,” he said.
The truck driver was also taken to hospital, after injuring his shoulder when getting out of the cabin to assist the female driver.
