South West Soccer Association heavyweights Hay Park and Dynamos slugged out two thrillers at the weekend.

The teams clashed on Sunday afternoon in a SWSA Cup first round match at Forrest Park followed by a Premier League match at Hay Park on Monday.

The cup match was an entertainer which started with a breathtaking opening goal in the third minute by Dynamo Corey Barclay and finished in the second period of extra time goal with the same sharpshooter completing a ripping hat-trick.

Barclay filled in the gap between goals one and three to give Dynamos the 3-2 win and passage into the next round of the knockout competition.

Hay Park with veteran Dave Murphy sending a scintillating 25-metre free kick to the far post for stepson Barclay to head home.

Ryan Price levelled the issue with a free kick of his own, slipping the ball past the wall while the Dynamos players were still preparing to defend.

Early in the second half, Jack Betts gave Hay Park the lead but that lasted just 10 minutes before Barclay struck again.

Into extra time and still no slowing down for the next half hour as play stormed from end to end until the second period of time-on when Barclay competed his hat-trick.

The first goal of the match, a family affair, set the tone for lively clash between old rivals Dynamos and The next hour saw Hay Park’s much vaunted defence working overtime with goalkeeper Connor Dunlop making a series of scintillating saves to counter raids by man-of-the-match Barclay, Murphy and mobile Michael Evans for the match to finish full time at two-all.

The second game between the two a day later was just as eventful in spite of the no score draw with burly Hay Park goalkeeper Connor Dunlop putting on his second stand-out performance in two days.
