A storm on Sunday afternoon drenched the South West and caused local flood damage around Eaton.

Bunbury's official weather station in Carey Park recorded 7.2mm of rain between 5pm and 5.13pm yesterday as part of 19mm for the day.

The rain caused significant flooding along Eaton Drive and damage to several buildings.

Sportspower's Eaton Fair store was closed yesterday due to water damage, which also caused "significant product loss".

Manager Kellie Hayward said it was planned to re-open the store today and added she was assured by centre management that the issues, caused by the store's back door being external to the centre, would be addressed.

Dardanup Shire Council's library and council offices in Eaton also had minor carpet damage due to the flooding but both were operational yesterday.

A council spokesman said there had been no reports of significant infrastructure damage to their buildings.

There was also another storm later in the night when Bunbury had 6.4mm between 12.30am and 1.30am.

The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting a wet week for Bunbury with showers expected every day up until Thursday.

April's average rainfall is 36.2mm.
