Event names cash recipients

South West Refuge and SAFE Bunbury have been selected as the recipients of money raised from candle sales at the Christmas in the City and carols.

Candle sales at last year’s event raised more than $1200.

South West Refuge provides crisis accommodation for 250 women and children escaping domestic violence while SAFE, or Saving Animals From Euthanasia, provides foster homes for animals at risk of being put down.

The December 11 event will begin at Bicentennial Square from 3pm before the street parade and carols.
