Exhibition a display of generosity
A generous group raising much-needed money for Eaton Bethanie Fields’ aged-care residents is at it again.
The group of Bethanie Fields residents call themselves the Garden Ramblers and will hold a fundraiser this Saturday to raise money for a gazebo for its aged-care neighbours.
The display of generosity comes as the group handed over the keys to a 12-seater bus for the aged-care centre in April after two years of fundraising efforts and then followed up by donating a trailer for the vehicle.
On Saturday the group will start its latest initiative to raise $5200 through an orchid display and art exhibition.
Garden Ramblers member Jacqui Thorpe said the group continued to help its neighbours because it was an easy and rewarding thing to do.
“Everyone really gets behind it and we’ve been very successful, so why stop there,” Mrs Thorpe said.
“We love doing it and it helps others.
“And people are so generous, with both time and donations.”
The event will run from 10am to 4pm on Saturday at the Bethanie Fields Lifestyle Village for a gold coin donation on entry.
About 50 art pieces from Bethanie residents will be on display with some available to buy and the Bunbury Orchid Society will display an array of orchids.
