Bunbury artist Linda Misa will be among those to exhibit when Bunbury Catholic College’s major fundraiser is held this weekend.

Mrs Misa, who is also a parent at the school, will show off her portraiture work and clay dolls in the 36th annual Art Extraordinaire.

“It is a good opportunity for the school to fund raise and it brings the community together,” she said.

“Artists are supporting the school and the school is supporting artists.

“Opening night is always a fun night and there is some really amazing art coming through the doors, so it is definitely worth coming to.”

Art Extraordinaire is an annual exhibition, sale and auction held over the weekend in the hall of the school’s Rodsted Street campus.

The highlight will be Friday night’s official opening where artist and former student Andrew Frazer will speak.

Mr Frazer is also producing a mural, funded by the school’s P&F and an ex-students association, on a wall at the school.

There will be about 300 pieces of work from artists across Australia featured in Art Extraordinaire including paintings, sculpture, pottery and more.

Tickets to Friday night’s opening, which begins at 7pm and is for people aged over 18, can be bought on the night.

They are $30 and include wine, beer, soft drinks and finger food.

The exhibition will then run from 10am until 5pm on Saturday and 10am until 4pm on Sunday.
