Donations continue to flow in for Bunbury man Sean Pollard who survived a shark attack near Esperance last week.

The 23-year-old was attacked last Thursday by what he believes was two sharks while surfing off of Kelpids Beach, 6km east of the town.

Mr Pollard suffered numerous injuries including the loss of one arm from his elbow, the loss of his other hand and lacerations to both legs.

He has since gone through two rounds of surgery at Royal Perth Hospital and remains in a stable condition.

His family spoke for the first time on Monday, with uncle Kim Ferguson saying he is recovering well in hospital.

"It is quite remarkable," he said.

"I don't think there would be any other instances in the world, let alone Australia, where a person has survived a dual shark attack," he said.

"He would love the ability to get on his feet as soon as possible so the family can all have a group hug, which is quite remarkable and is just typical of his character.

"He is a fighter, 23 years of age, he has a whole life ahead of him, he has some battles ahead but he has the right mind set and the right family support to tackle all challenges."

Mr Ferguson said if it was not for the volunteers and witnesses, Sean might not have survived.

Mr Pollard is a member of the South Bunbury Football Club and on Sunday at the grand final at Hands Oval, the club raised more than $6000.

In a statement on the club's website it revealed it would be working with the family, businesses and community groups to put together fundraisers for Mr Pollard.

The Department of Fisheries caught and killed two female white sharks on drumlines after the attack.
