Men are being encouraged to enter this year’s Bunbury Turf Club Fashions on the Field contest, which will be held during the Melbourne Cup meet on 1 November.

Local talent agency, CM Model Management, has taken over running the event and director Tamara Dimov wants to see more men strut their stuff on the catwalk.

Under the new format, entrants must pre-register by Sunday, by messaging their name, address and phone number to the official competition’s Facebook page.

The men’s prizes are worth more than $1,200 and include a Citizen Watch, while the first prize for the women’s competition is a trip worth $1,500.

Ms Dimov said this year’s show would be one of the biggest yet.

“We have industry people from Perth coming to judge this year’s competition,” she said.

Ms Dimov said at the moment metallic colours were in fashion for women.

“You still have your traditional black and white as always, while lace is pretty prominent,” she said.

“Myer Fashions on the Field in Perth was very strong with navy and orange.

“For the men it is all about blue. Suits and chinos were also in.”

Ms Dimov said entries would not be accepted on the day.
